Tap into your genesis moment
Leaders need a ‘genesis moment.’ This moment unlocks the door for new beginnings. It unleashes what I call a ‘genesis movement.’ When it’s taken hold of, the moment transforms into a movement.
Leaders that no longer have heart, or have settled into mediocrity, will usually recycle everything with a dysfunctional twist. It’s key that old thoughts, actions, and plans do not become recycled with a new paint job. Rather seize a fresh, anything-is-possible, exciting mindset.
The Lord inspires a genesis moment and is set in motion by Him. I, as a leader, need many genesis moments in my life so I will grow and produce. A new beginning releases a fresh anointing that flows in everything I do. I am a new creation; a genesis moment has been unlocked. When I live within this, it develops into a movement, a lifestyle.
2 Corinthians 5:17, 18 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,
A genesis in my life will move me into new territory, I will have fresh productivity and cutting-edge results. It is according to the One who created me in His Image. It demonstrates His love and peace that rules my heart.
Colossians 3:9,10 9 Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices,10 and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him—
The genesis moment gives me access to the Word of Christ which richly exists in me with all wisdom.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom
What is a genesis moment?
A genesis moment is creative by nature. When God touches something, humankind cannot sever it. I may struggle to pull it apart and take the parts I prefer, but ultimately, I will fail in the attempt. The familiar passage I do at weddings is “what God has put together, let no man put asunder”. This refers to a bond that is designed by the Master Leader, the Lord Jesus Christ.
A husband and wife are moving into a genesis moment when they unite as one before God in marriage. Something unique is taking place. They will not remain as they did before when they were single. (Mark 10:6-9) The same significance takes effect when a person accepts the work of Jesus Christ into their life, what we call born again. Born again actually means ‘born from above.’ A genesis moment of a fresh beginning. (John 3:3)
Replacing the void
Just like at the creation of humankind, when a genesis occurs, it replaces the void. What then is being occupied or replaced?
Ephesians 4:25 Therefore, laying aside falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.
26 Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,
27 and do not give the devil an opportunity.
28 He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need.
29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth.
First, I deal with all falsehoods. Falsehood is full of wrath, anger, bitterness, and slander.
Second, the devil no longer has a place to torment me. He lies to me, in an attempt to cause me to be anxious, or twist my perception and understanding. I choose not to listen to him.
Third, A genesis moment in my life empowers me, and I will not call to mind former words and actions that seek to stop me. Nor will I consider matters of the past that create limitations for me.
Isa 43:18,19
“Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past. 19 “Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.
Fourthly, old weapons will not prosper against me. Mountains may fall, but His loving-kindness will not abandon me.
Fifthly, a genesis moment brings a new joy.
Six, a genesis moment also is a begotten (birthing) moment. It is EPIC! Hebrews 12:25-27
May a genesis moment occur from the Lord in your life today. Seize it! How? By not fearing the unfamiliar that the Lord is bringing into your life and your ministry. Stay on Mt. Zion (the place of sons & daughters) not on Mt. Sinai. (Law, creeds, works)
• Don’t turn your genesis moment into law.
• Don’t turn your genesis moment into a sad event.
• Do not get entangled in your thinking on your shortcoming, or the haunting lost battles of your past.
Move into your Now, release a genesis moment into your activity, into your conversations, into the ministry. Lead with singing. Experience God accomplishing things that were not, but now are. Wear anointed armor that is fresh. Pull out the rusted-out past memories of steps taken. Strengthen the hands that are weak.
Today, may your heart be uplifted with courage. Seize your genesis moment. Don’t delay any longer.
